New Members Welcome! 14th January Creative Crochet with Edwyn Join us for an all ability crochet lesson. Materials required What you will need...... 1. A Tunisian Crochet Hook (as shown above) -Single or double ended, 6mm plus size if possible. 2. Standard Crochet Hook -size 6mm or above, preferably without a thumb rest. 3. Yarn -Double knitting yarn. (Plain without too much fuzz). -1 plain colour and a variegated yarn too if possible. 4. Reading glasses if required fir close work! 12th February Banking Safety Speaker Tony Jean Baptiste from NatWest takes us through understanding modern banking safety 11th March Dresser to the Stars Our speaker Paul Reed gives us the lowdown on dressing celebrities! 8th April AGM Social We review our year of events and look to shape our coming year. With guest Jane Cross to take us through some Easter crafts 13th May The Story of Southend Carnival Speaker Gary Lower tells us the history and modern story of the popular Southend carnival 10th June The Art of Felting Our guest Judy Goring gives us a demonstration on the art of felting 8th July Guide Dogs Our speaker is a guide dog user and tells us all about the dogs and their vital role August Annual Break - no meeting 9th September An evening with the RSPB Learn about the good works done by locally by the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds with Graham Mee 14th October Dabs & DNA An evening with our speaker Chris Turan learning about DNA and forensic science 11th November Paintings of WW1 Our speaker Dr Mark Banting gives us a poignant talk on the paintings done by women in WW1 11th December Designer Christmas Arrangements Florist Tracey Cullender creates stunning festive arrangements |
